Judith Klemenc setzt sich in ihrer künstlerischen Arbeit, die Objekte, Installationen, Videos und Performances umfasst, intensiv mit dem wirklichkeitsstiftenden und transformatorischen Potential der Kunst auseinander. Entlang der subtilen Differenzlinien zwischen LeibKörper und Sprache ist es immer wieder die Frage der sozialen Anrufung, die Genese von Körperlichkeit, die zur Disposition steht. Die künstlerische Bearbeitung dieser Fragen stellt eine Übersetzung vom Intelligblen ins Sinnliche dar. Wissenschaftliche Auseinandersetzung mündet in eine ästhetische und umso transformativere Formensprache. Darin zeigt sich wesentlich die Handschrift Klemencs: Kritik an bild- und sprachimmanenten Strukturen von gesellschaftspolitischer Gewalt findet nie von außen statt, sondern regt sich immer schon inmitten der Verhältnisse. Ihre Kunst bleibt nicht bei der Kritik stehen, sondern vermag es bereits, neue Assoziationen zu mobilisieren und menschenwürdige Reflexionsräume zu eröffnen. Ein ethisch-ästhetischer Anspruch wird somit zentral: die Anerkennung aller Menschen in ihren unterschiedlichen Verletzbarkeiten. 

In her artistic work, which includes objects, installations, videos and performances, Judith Klemenc intensively explores the reality-creating and transformative potential of art. Along the subtle lines of difference between (lived)body and language, it is always the question of social invocation, the genesis of lived body, that is at issue. The artistic treatment of these questions represents a translation from the intelligent to the sensual. Scientific debate leads to an aesthetic and all the more transformative formal language. This is where Klemenc’s signature is essentially evident: criticism of the structures of socio-political violence immanent in images and language never comes from outside, but is always stirred up in the midst of the circumstances. Her art does not stop at criticism, but is already capable of mobilizing new associations and opening up humane spaces for reflection. An ethical-aesthetic claim thus becomes central: the recognition of all people in their different vulnerabilities.
